It is a well-known fact that Cancerians tend to be incredibly loyal and emotional people. However, did you know that some of the biggest names in the world of Art - past & present are from the Cancer zodiac. Here are a few of our favourites:
Anjolie Ela Menon
Anjolie Ela Menon is one of India's leading contemporary female artists. Her paintings are in several major collections. Anjolie Ela Menon was awarded the Padma Shree, India's fourth highest civilian honour, in 2000.

Frida Kahlo
The world reknowned Mexican painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico, Frida Kahlo was a Cancerian. Did you know that Frida employed a folk art style in her work to explore questions of identity, gender, class and race in Mexican society.
Artemisia Gentileschi
A truly inspirational woman, Artemisia Gentileschi is an important baroque painter who rose to prominence despite terrible hostilities towards female artists at her time. Artemisia Gentileschi is regarded as one of the most influential artists of the era in which she lived and her painting ‘Judith Slaying Holofernes’ is one of her most famous works that is still studied by students of painting.

Born as Moishe Segal, Marc Chagall was a prominent Russian artist. Considered a pioneer of modernism, Chagall used art to express the his horrible experience over the Nazi rise to power through his works on Jewish martyrs and refugees
Camille Pissarro
Pissarro along with his friends including Edgar Degas and Claude Monet played a crucial role in creating the Impressionist movement. He was a mentor to some of the most prominent Post-Impressionists Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat, Vincent van Gogh and Paul Cézanne.

Our very own, incredibly talented Santosh Maravi also joins this august company in July! Born on July 1, 1983, in central India, Santosh remains one of our absolute favourite artists of all time. His work with its messages related to change in our environment and the impact we as humans are having on all other life forms around us has been a continuous source of inspiration for us and many others who have embraced his work.
