Herd of Elephants Cushion Cover in Cornflower Blue
Inspired by the favourite colour of Dutch Artist - Vermeer, our Cornflower Blue version of "Herd of Elephants" cushion cover is a truly unique piece of home décor. This soft velvet piece is part of our Santosh Maravi collection. Santosh is an emerging Gond artist. We did a fascinating interview with him, which you can read here. Santosh creates imagery with incredibly powerful stories behind them.
We fell in love with not just his work, but also the thoughts behind them, which are so relevant in today’s world. If you are an art enthusiast who is also passionate about the environment and the impact we are having on it as humans, this collection is for you.
Our “Herd of Elephants” cushion cover shows the normally happy herd of Elephants taking some drastic steps to save their home. They think of carrying the forest with them so that they do not need to keep moving as forests are destroyed by humans. They believe that by simply carrying their home with them, they would not be harassed by humans and can live happily. The back of the cover has this story printed on it as a reminder to all of us about the impact we are having on nature.
