Skirmish - Original Gond Painting by Rahul Singh Shyam - as seen in worldofinteriors
This original work by Rahul Singh Shyam shows a skirmish in action between 2 birds who are in search of the ideal spot to build their nests. A place where they will lay their eggs in the nest until the babies are hatched and grow up to be independent.
The ideal nests are hidden from view of predators. They are high up in the trees so that their parents can see them while flying back after gathering food for the hatchlings, and so that the predators are unable to reach the nests.
Two birds have simultaneously chanced upon the perfect spot to build their nests. Neither is willing to cede ground to the other, and a skirmish ensues.
Rahul Singh Shyam is an emerging Gond artist, who apprenticed under the great Bhajju Shyam. We did a fascinating interview with him, which you can read here. Rahul's vibrant work represents nature's ways through depictions of everyday incidences in the lives of animals, birds and trees
